The Society of Licensed Conveyancers held a conference at Pride Park in Derby on 22nd November entitled ‘Embracing the Future of Conveyancing’. There was a host of top speakers taking to the stage, including Jennifer Bourne from the Council of Mortgage Lenders, Paul Broadhead from the Building Societies Association and Victor Olowe, Chief Executive of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. The topics covered included mortgage fraud, mortgage lenders panels, Alternative Business Structures as well as the future shape of legal services regulation. The Society presented the sophisticated solution it is developing for members to remain on lenders panels and a number of new products and service opportunities designed to help members differentiate themselves in the market place.
